Journey back to 1800s Charleston and learn from real spaces where people were enslaved and forced to work hours upon end without pay. At the Aiken-Rhett House, students will see bed chambers, the kitchen house, laundry room, and main house and hear about what urban slavery was like and how enslaved people made subtle resistances and fought for their freedom daily.
