Grades 4-9 | Safe Drinking Water Foundation presents A Celebration of World Rivers Day - Sep 28, 2020 12:10pm EDT
About this event:
Join Nicole Hancock, Executive Director of Safe Drinking Water Foundation, for a celebration of World Rivers Day. In 2005, the United Nations launched the Water for Life Decade to create greater awareness of the need to take better care of our water resources. Following this launch, the establishment of World Rivers Day arose in response to a proposal initiated by internationally renowned river advocate, Mark Angelo. There are dozens of rivers in Canada that are at least 600 km in length. Do you know which is the longest? Which of the United States’ over 250,000 rivers is the longest? Learn about rivers and their impact on our drinking water!
