Last December marked 30 years since Mikhail Gorbachev resigned and the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics dissolved, in effect marking the end of what had long been called the Cold War. This program will define the Cold War and discuss the origins, key events and end of what became a global conflict between totalitarian regimes led by the Soviet Union and the free world led by the United States.
