About this event:

Created by Streamable Learning

On June 4, 1989, student-led demonstrations were held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, which led to what is known as Tiiananmen Square Massacre. Today’s program will look much farther back into China’s history of violent leadership. While many people recognize Stalin and Hitler as some of the World’s most evil dictators, the majority of people do not understand that Mao Zedong killed more people than those two combined. Mao implemented the Great Leap Forward to accelerate China’s progress towards a modern industrialized state with a communist government. It was catastrophic failure that killed almost 45 million people in a man-made famine, forced labor camps, and executions of political enemies.

This is a new program.

Program duration is 30 to 40 minutes.
