Ford’s Theatre, located in Washington, D.C., originally opened in August 1863 and is known for being the site of President Lincoln’s assassination on April 14, 1865. Together with the Peterson House across the street, it is currently known as the Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site and is administered by the National Park Service.
